The School enjoys an excellent reputation for the quality of its programs, care and support offered to students, as well as the commitment, dedication, and professionalism of its staff.About the roleThe Finance Officer will provide a high level of service to School staff as a member of the Finance team. This role will provide timely and accurate transaction processing in the accounts receivable and accounts payable functions within the School and include duties from across the finance function of the School. The position is available on a full time or part time basis. Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts ReceivableIssue commercial invoices as required.Manage the timely and accurate charging of fees to parent accounts, including tuition and recurring non-tuition fees.Timely processing and recording of scholarships, bursaries and other credits on parent accounts.Raising invoices and ensure collection of monies from non-parent trade debtor accounts.Receipting of customer payments made via direct debit, EFT and BPAY.Liaise with the Debt Collection Agency and Edstart for the collection of fees.Reconciliation of the bank accounts on a daily basis.Accounts PayableCreation of new supplier accounts, including lodgement and filing of credit applications.Process accounts payable transactions.Timely and accurate entry of supplier invoices.Weekly preparation and processing of supplier payments (including foreign suppliers and staff reimbursements) via EFT and BPAY.Preparation and processing of ad-hoc (i.e out of cycle) supplier payments as required by the Business Manager.Review and reconcile supplier statements on a regular basis.Payment and reconciliation of credit card and Electronic Value (EVC) accounts.Reimbursement of employee expenses.About youSound knowledge and use of Microsoft office systems, including Word, Excel etc.Accounts payable and receivable processing experience.Strong reconciliation skills for supplier account statements.Have a paid Working with Children blue card prior to commencement.DesirableExperience with The Alpha School System (TASS) software.Experience in working in a school environment in a finance function.Experience working with an Enterprise Bargaining Agreement.ExperienceEffective interpersonal relationships with staff.Demonstrated consistent high degree of accuracy.Ability to display initiative in the performance of duties.Sound knowledge of customer service principles.Sound knowledge of basic accounting principles.Your ApplicationPlease address your application to the Business Manager and include a cover letter specifying preferred position (part time or full time), CV (please include current Working With Children Check blue card details), and the names and email addresses of two referees.Applications close Friday, 30 August 2024.
