The BHOY provides a supportive and nurturing approach to ensure that the wellbeing and interests of each boarder are nurtured, enabling her to be All She Can Be.In consultation with the Head of Boarding, the BHOY is primarily responsible for the safety, welfare, behaviour, personal development, pastoral care and day-to-day management of boarders in their allocated year levels. They will be the first point of contact with parents for all wellbeing matters including behaviour for all boarders under their care.Key Tasks:Leading the provision of wellbeing within allocated year levels and enhancing the wellbeing and enrichment programs through innovative initiativesMonitor and be involved in the development of boarders’ academic, co-curricular, moral, spiritual, emotional and physical wellbeingMaintain a climate of excellence in the care of boarders through effective collaboration with academic and pastoral staff, catering, laundry, health centre, and co-curricular staffDevelop purposeful and supportive relationships with the boarders to maintain high standards of behaviour consistent with the expectations of The SchoolPromote a strong culture of respect for others and their propertyMaintain a visible and active presence in the house, and support the academic Prep ProgramContribute to the development of policies and procedures to ensure effective operations of the boarding housesOversee boarders’ leave arrangements Write professional reports for boarders at the end of Term 1 and Term 3Ensure a sense of community is established by widely promoting the identity and spirit of BoardingEfficient and effective conduct and completion of activities and tasks that are assigned.Potential Workplace Health and Safety matters in the School are attended to immediately should they arise.Qualifications, Experience and Competencies EssentialCurrent Paid Blue CardCurrent First Aid Certificate with CPRDesirableFormal qualifications at Diploma/Associate Degree level and/or knowledge and experience relevant to a position working with adolescent girls in boardingTeaching qualificationsApplications close 10 December 2024.
